On September 1st, the new version of the Tesla Model 3 was officially unveiled. This marks the first redesign of the Model 3 since its initial release in 2016. The updated model features refinements in its exterior, interior, and configuration. The official website in China has also commenced pre-sales of this new variant, which is named the "Refreshed Version." Initially, there will be two models available: the rear-wheel-drive version and the long-range all-wheel-drive version. The first batch of these new models is expected to commence deliveries in the fourth quarter.

Key features of the new model include:

Minor adjustments in the exterior design, with the most noticeable change being the elongated shape of the headlights and subtle adjustments to the front bumper. The taillights now feature a C-shaped design, and two new body colors, Starry Gray and Flame Red, have been introduced.

Numerous interior adjustments, including the elimination of the turn signal stalk behind the steering wheel, with turn signal controls integrated into the steering wheel itself. The physical gear shifter has been removed, integrating directly into the center screen. Additionally, upgrades have been made to the ambient lighting, instrument cluster, center screen, and audio system.

In terms of powertrain, the long-range all-wheel-drive version is expected to achieve a maximum estimated range of 713 km. The battery capacity of the rear-wheel-drive version has been increased from 60 kWh to 66 kWh, resulting in an extended range of 610 km. The high-performance version has seen its battery capacity adjusted from the current 78.4 kWh to 72 kWh. Furthermore, the new Model 3 may come equipped with features such as a heat pump for the air conditioning system.

Market Outlook:

Despite previous price adjustments for the Model 3, it has consistently maintained strong market demand and positive feedback. With the release of the new Model 3, potential buyers who have not yet made a purchase decision and those who have pre-ordered the current model but have not yet taken delivery are likely to find the updated model more appealing, despite the higher price. This is due to the enhancements in both design and features.

So, does Tesla have corresponding policies for customers who want to purchase or switch to the new Model 3?
